During carnival time: suspended classes, children alone, greater exposure to violence. In addition, due to the large movement of tourists, both Brazilians and foreigners, the cases of exploitation, sexual abuse and trafficking in young people are also alarming in this period. To combat this scenario, Instituto Liberta launched the campaign SEX WITH CHILDREN: IT’S TIME TO END THIS CARNIVAL, which seeks to summon revelers to pay attention to children and adolescents during the party and protect them from violence. With an average of 398 violations per day, according to data from the Federal Public Ministry, Brazil suffers from underreporting of this crime that affects the entire country.
